The Experiment

On January 10, 2026, I conducted a controlled experiment to answer a simple question: can you force Google to index multiple pages by submitting only one?

The hypothesis was: if Googlebot visits a page containing references to other pages (iframes, prerender, links), it should logically crawl and index those target pages.

The 5 Methods Tested

Discovery #1: Crawl is NOT Indexation

Here's where the experiment gets interesting.

24 hours after the test, I checked indexation with site:selimreggabi.com:

Pages indexed:

  • Homepage
  • test-iframes
  • test-inline
  • test-headers
  • test-ping
  • test-refresh

Pages NOT indexed:

  • /cocon-semantique
  • /faillite-cocon-semantique
  • /maillage-interne
  • /topical-authority

The test pages (even those without valuable content) were indexed. The target pages (rich, quality content) were NOT indexed.

When you signal a URL to Google via Search Console or other methods, Google treats it as a targeted indexation request, not as a general crawl signal.

Pages discovered via iframes or prerender are crawled but placed in the normal indexation queue, without priority. This fundamental distinction between crawling and indexation highlights why effective strategic internal linking architectures must focus not just on creating crawl paths but on building genuine authority and semantic signals that justify indexation priority, ensuring that discovery mechanisms actually translate into sustained index inclusion rather than mere temporary visits that leave pages languishing in the crawl queue without achieving their ranking potential.

I then searched Google for a text excerpt present in the /topical-authority page:

Surprising result: Google returned /test-iframes in first position, not /topical-authority.

What This Means

When Google crawls a page containing iframes:

  2. It attributes that content to the parent page (the one with the iframes)
